The Grand Festival of Democracy Student Council Elections at Adani Vidya Mandir, Bhadreshwar

 Bhadreshwar, Gujarat – July 28, 2025

Adani Vidya Mandir, Bhadreshwar, celebrated the grand festival of democracy through its Student Council Elections, promoting leadership, ethics, and democratic values among students. The event created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and engagement across the school community.

The election, conducted as per the Standard Operating Procedure, saw 39 students contesting for six key positions, including Head Boy, Head Girl, and leaders of the four houses – Satya, Shaurya, Sanskar, and Siddhant. A total of 378 students from standards 5 to 10 participated in voting. Candidates campaigned energetically, presenting their ideas during school assemblies and engaging peers in meaningful discussions.

Voting took place through secret ballot at four polling stations, achieving an impressive 92.02% turnout. Transparency was ensured through student signatures and public counting of votes in the presence of teachers and peers.

The elected student leaders took oath on July 30, 2025, in a ceremony attended by the Sarpanch, Upsarpanch, Taluka members, District Panchayat members, Mandvi Taluka MLA Aniruddhabhai Dave, and Adani Foundation’s Panktiben Shah. Badges were formally presented to the council members.

In his address, MLA Aniruddhabhai Dave emphasized the importance of education, particularly girl child education, while Principal Dr. Ashutosh Thackeray highlighted the significance of democratic participation.

Since 2012, Adani Vidya Mandir Bhadreshwar, under the Adani Foundation, has been providing free education to children from underprivileged communities in and around Bhadreshwar, Kutch. The school offers education from standards SKG to 10, including tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and nutritious meals, fostering both academic and holistic development.
