From Darkness to Light: AVMB Illuminates the Life of a Brave Young Girl

Mundra, Kutch | December 2024 – In the coastal town of Lunigam, where daily survival is a challenge for the fishing community, Adani Vidya Mandir Bhadreshwar (AVMB) has become a beacon of hope for many underprivileged families.

One such inspiring story is of Samina Relia, a Class 7 student born with congenital cataracts and into a family struggling to make ends meet. Her father, a fisherman, and mother, a housewife, lacked the resources to seek treatment for Samina’s partial blindness. But everything changed when Samina joined AVMB in Grade 1.

Through its regular health camps, the school identified Samina's condition and supported her family throughout the process of her eye treatment. In November 2024, she underwent successful cataract surgery in one eye—an emotional turning point that restored her vision and brought light into her world for the first time.

AVMB’s continuous support—free education, uniforms, textbooks, meals, and transport—ensured her learning never stopped. Encouraged by the success, the school is now guiding her through the second surgery as well.

Samina’s mother, filled with gratitude, shared, "Adani Vidya Mandir is not just a school—it is a family that nurtures and transforms lives."

This journey from darkness to light stands as a powerful testament to AVMB’s commitment to holistic, compassionate education
